Alexis Wainwright is an Emmy Award-winning journalist originally from Bowie, MD.

 

Before moving to the Lone Star State as a reporter and traffic anchor, she was a reporter & fill-in anchor at KARK in Little Rock, AR.

 

Alexis is an active and creative live reporter who goes the extra mile to always make her content innovative, effective and impactful. She consistently breaks big stories and digs to uncover issues that could affect viewers and their communities. She gets to the heart of every story.

 

In Arkansas, Alexis was nominated for an Emmy for her continuous coverage of protests following the murder of George Floyd and also for her captivating reporting on a historic snowstorm.

 

From chasing breaking news, to presenting exclusive feature stories, Alexis is always committed to being a leader in the market throughout the different regions she’s covered.

 

Before coming to the South, Alexis worked as a Reporter and fill-in Anchor for WJAC and WATM in Central Pennsylvania.

 

She attended grad school at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism where she was a freelance reporter for multiple stations across the country. 

In 2016, she received her bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.

 

Alexis loves to mentor younger students and looks forward to continuing to make an impact in the communities across the Dallas and Fort Worth area.
